Michael Gordon, Principal

Member of the Orchestra Since 2007
Michael Gordon is principal flute with the Kansas City Symphony. Prior to joining the Symphony, he was a member for three years with the New World Symphony in Miami, Florida under the direction of Michael Tilson Thomas. In 2007 he performed as soloist with the New World Symphony. Gordon has also performed with several orchestras across the United States including the St. Louis Symphony and the Minnesota Orchestra. In 2004, he earned both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Rice University where he studied with Leone Buyse. Before attending Rice University, he was a student of Marianne Gedigian (currently Professor of Flute at the University of Texas at Austin).
