Dorris Dai Janssen joined the New Haven Youth Orchestra at the age of seven and has enjoyed orchestral playing as part of her life ever since. She received her Bachelor of Music degree in Violin Performance at the University of Houston while studying with Fredell Lack, and Master of Music degree at the University of Minnesota while studying with Jorja Fleezanis. The summers beckon her to beautiful Wyoming where she has played with the Grand Teton Music Festival for seven years. Kansas City has been home to Janssen since 2000 where she shares a happy life with her husband, Karl, and son, Wesley.
