Originally from Pismo Beach, California, Jenifer Richison began the violin at age four. Switching to the viola at 19, she completed her undergraduate work at Southern Methodist University as a student of Barbara Sudweeks. Richison has soloed with several orchestras on the violin and viola, including the National Repertory Orchestra. She held a position with the New World Symphony, in Miami, Florida from 2005 to 2006. While a member of the New World Symphony, she held a position with the Verbier Orchestra, based out of Switzerland, and toured Europe, Asia and Australia with them. She also frequently tours and plays with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Richison joined the Kansas City Symphony in the September of 2007. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, studying languages and playing tennis.
