Diane Schick, Piccolo and Third Flute of the Kansas City Symphony, has been a member of the orchestra since it was formed in 1982. Before her appointment in Kansas City, she was Co-Principal Flute of the Fort Worth Symphony and a substitute flutist with the Kansas City Philharmonic before that.
Schick also has performed as Principal Flute with the Kansas City Chamber Orchestra, Kansas City Camerata, and the Texas Little Symphony with whom she toured with to Carnegie Hall. Her Summer Music Festival credits include performing with the Lancaster Music Festival in Lancaster, Ohio and Sunflower Music Festival in Topeka, Kansas since 1984.
Passionate about music education, she has been an Artist-in-Residence of Missouri Western State University and was Conductor and Director of the Kansas City Youth Symphony Flute Choir.
Schick was educated at the UMKC Conservatory of Music where she earned the Dean's Honor Award and Northwestern University, where she was a member of Pi Kappa Lambda.
