Please Join Us For Match the Match 2
The Kansas City Symphony has received a challenge grant of $250,000 from an anonymous donor. To meet the challenge, the Symphony must raise a quarter of a million dollars by June 30 -- the end of the Symphony's fiscal year -- through new or additional gifts.

The challenge, "Match the Match 2," comes on the heels of a successful $150,000 challenge by the same anonymous donor last season. At the time, it was the largest gift to the Symphony by that donor. More than 1,140 people responded to the challenge in just three weeks.

"We are honored that this generous supporter has such confidence in the Symphony," said Symphony Executive Director Frank Byrne. "They were delighted at the response to their challenge last year, and are excited about the opportunity to further motivate involvement and investment in the Symphony.

"The potential for impact is extraordinary. More than ever, gifts now will help ensure the Symphony continues to define arts excellence in our community."

The Symphony, with a budget of $11.2 million, receives only 30 percent of its revenue through ticket sales. Virtually all of the balance comes from generous contributions from the community.

Lend Your Support

Your gift makes a difference!

As a contributor to the Kansas City Symphony, you will help sustain our priceless musical heritage, support exceptional performances, education programs and community outreach.

  • BUILD a solid structure for the orchestra's growth as we prepare for the opening of the new performing arts center
  • PROVIDE increased music education activities for students to supplement the diminishing arts programs in public schools
  • CONTINUE the artistic development of the orchestra
  • ATTRACT the finest musicians, guest artists and conductors
  • CREATE community outreach concerts and opportunities for audience development
  • SUPPORT the financial health of the Symphony.
Ticket sales represent only a fraction of the Symphony's overall income and alone cannot sustain our goals and programs. Your gift, no matter the size, ensures that beautiful music will continue to enrich the lives of our community.
