Volunteer Opportunities Check out our Volunteer Opportunites area for all of the Kansas City Symphony volunteer opportunities. PETTING ZOO VOLUNTEERS The Kansas City Symphony's instrument petting zoo is an innovative way to introduce the instruments of the orchestra to young people. Children will have the opportunity to blow into a trumpet, beat a drum and bow a violin. Almost all of the instruments of the orchestra are present at this hands-on activity. Volunteers are always needed to assist with the petting zoo. No musical experience is necessary. Volunteers will be trained during set-up and by the end of the event, you too will know how to squawk an oboe and slide a trombone. Petting zoo events typically last either one to two hours. For dates and times of upcoming zoo events, please contact Steven Murray, Education Manager at (816) 218-2638. This activity is also a great opportunity for high school students to earn volunteer credit hours for school.
VOLUNTEER USHERS Experience the Kansas City Symphony by volunteering as an usher for one of the many KCS concerts throughout the season. The Symphony is always in need of competent volunteers willing to give their time to help create an enjoyable concert experience for our patrons. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer usher, please contact Carmen Ringhiser, House Manager, at 816-842-4051.
