Accessibility
The Carlson Center at JCCC is fully-accessible to patrons with special needs. If you need support services, contact the Office of Special Services at (913) 469-8500, ext. 2974, or TDD (913) 469-8525.
Drinking Fountains are located on all levels, near theatre entrances.
Elevators are located at either end of the CEC lobby.
- The north elevator (by main doors) serves the parking garages and main lobby.
- The south elevator (by concession stand) serves the main lobby and second and third levels of Yardley Hall.
Entrances to Yardley Hall provide access to the theatre from every floor.
- Main Lobby (first floor): Main Entrance to Yardley Hall provides access from the north (house left) and south (house right).
- Second floor: rear Terrace doors on house right and house left.
- Third floor: rear Balcony doors on house right and house left.
Ramps to the main campus on the south end of the second and third levels of the CEC have campus maps next to their entrances.
Restrooms and Public Phones are located on each level, next to the south elevator.
The Switchboard is located on the granite level of the CEC Lobby next to the Art Gallery.
- The switchboard serves as Security Office, First Aid and Lost & Found.
***Note: No person is authorized to summon outside emergency aid or to dial 911 except a JCCC security officer.
House Information
No food or beverages are permitted in the theater.
Smoking is not permitted in the CEC.
Persons expecting emergency calls are requested to leave their seat location with the Ticket Office.
Patrons are not allowed to stand in aisles, stairways or vestibules.
Infrared hearing units are available in the lobby. A driver's license is needed as a security deposit.
In Case of an Emergency, the Cultural Education Center has a number of exits that are clearly marked and lighted. Please take time to identify the two exits nearest you. If the fire alarm system is activated, proceed to one of these exits and leave the building. Do not re-enter the building until notified by the head of security or by the fire department.
