Community Involvement

Free and low-cost performances for community, students and educators reach more than 70,000 people annually.

The Kansas City Symphony is an engaged collaborator with many organizations in the region including our principal partners the Kansas City Symphony Chorus, the Kansas City Ballet, and the Lyric Opera, but extending to the UMKC Conservatory of Music and Dance, the Youth Symphony of Kansas City, University Academy, the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, the National WWI Memorial, Symphony in the Flint Hills, and others. In addition, the Symphony’s Bank of America Celebration at the Station is a free Memorial Day Weekend concert and tribute to our service men and woman. The Symphony performs for an audience of nearly 50,000 people at Union Station and is broadcast live throughout the region.

Committed to education and sharing music with our youth, the Symphony offers a wide variety of programs for students from kindergarten through college. More than 50,000 students and teachers from hundreds of schools throughout the region attend Symphony programs each year, experiencing the thrill of symphonic music.
