The Kansas City Symphony has several openings for semester-long internships in Marketing, Development and Operations. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in working in a non-profit environment. Internships are unpaid and we are looking for someone who is available at least 10-12 hours per week. While administrative duties will be scaled to match your skill and academic level, we are looking for interns who have demonstrated maturity and who have interest in classical music and non-profit organizations.
Assist in managing different aspects of marketing and customer service – including print ads, website, phone app, graphic design, email marketing, social media, direct mail and fulfillment.
Assist with donor research and donor databases; support special events and gift fulfillment; general office duties. Must be personable, have a positive attitude, be comfortable with people, comfortable on the telephone and have general computer skills.
- Concert Production
Assist Kansas City Symphony Operations Staff with rehearsal and concert duty. Additional opportunities for general administrative support may become available. Applicants must be reliable, discrete and interested in learning about producing concerts in a world-class concert hall.
- Operations Department Intern
The Kansas City Symphony, the region's only full-time professional symphony orchestra, is seeking applications for an Operations Department Intern. The Operations Intern will be responsible for assisting the Operations Department with day to day orchestra operations in addition to the Bank of America Celebration at the Station event every year in May. Primary areas of responsibility include work on concert production for a variety of events performed by the Kansas City Symphony.
