Ways to Make Planned Gifts

There are many ways to make a planned, or deferred, gift to the Kansas City Symphony. Some options provide income during the donor's lifetime; others benefit heirs through tax benefits. Work with your financial advisor or attorney to discuss the options that are best for you and your family. We'll be pleased to provide information so that you and your advisors can develop a plan that serves your philanthropic intentions for the Symphony and is tailored to your individual needs.

Some options are:

  • Include the Symphony in your will or trust. Let us know that you have done so to encourage others to do the same, so that we can honor you during your lifetime, and so that they Symphony can plan for its future.

  • Working with your financial advisor, create a charitable gift annuity, a charitable remainder unitrust or annuity trust, deferred gift annuities, retained real estate or a charitable bargain sale. These donor vehicles allow you to benefit during your lifetime while reducing tax burdens for your heirs.

  • Convert life insurance into a charibale gift for the Symphony.

  • Donate assets such as art, real estate and equipment - and secure a tax deduction when you do so.
