Lisa Jackson
Lisa has been concertmaster of the Heidelberg Schloss-Spiele in Heidelberg, Germany and the Wichita Grand Opera. Additionally, she was a member of the Glimmerglass Opera in Cooperstown, NY and NewEar contemporary ensemble in Kansas City. She has performed with the Kansas City Chamber Orchestra since 2008.
Lisa earned her Bachelor of Music degree in violin performance with distinction from the Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester and her Master of Music degree in violin performance from the University of Akron. Her primary teachers were Catherine Tait and Alan Bodman.
Lisa has been teaching privately since 1991. She was appointed to teach at the University of Kansas for a year and teaches violin, viola, and coaches string chamber music at Baker University and MidAmerica Nazarene University.
Lisa lives in Olathe, KS, with her husband of 26 years, Brian, has two adult children and a dog.
Lisa Jackson, violin, has held four one-year contracts with the Kansas City Symphony. She held a full-time first violin position in the Tulsa Philharmonic Orchestra for nine years and was assistant concertmaster from 2001-2002. She served as associate concertmaster of Tulsa Opera for four years before moving to Kansas City.
