Customer Relations Representative

Position Title: Customer Relations Representative
Department: Box Office
Type: FULL & PART-TIME

Summary

  • Provide exemplary customer service to all patrons
  • Achieve sales/solicitations/data management success
  • Maintain highest level of product knowledge and enthusiasm
  • Maximize patron participation by offering additional opportunities
  • Support data management policies

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Answer incoming phone calls and accurately process orders using Tessitura ticketing software
  • Facilitate ticket purchases in person at the Symphony offices, and sell tickets at performances
  • Fulfillment of tickets purchased, along with the mailing of any other collateral materials, as instructed
  • Initiate outgoing telephone sales calls
  • Provide clerical support to other departments
  • Assist marketing department by communicating customer feedback
  • Process any sales from the Symphony’s website, when instructed
  • Help patrons exchange tickets, and solve simple customer service issues
  • Act as Symphony representative at events

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 1-2 years sales and/or customer service experience
  • Classical music background as performer or patron
  • Microsoft Office – Excel and Word
  • Ticketing software knowledge (or ability to learn quickly)
  • Basic math skills

Language Skills:

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent grammar
  • Pleasing telephone manners

Reasoning Ability:

  • Tactful, discreet, calm under pressure. Service with a smile!

Physical Demands

  • Sitting at the computer for several hours at a time
  • Using a telephone head set
  • Carrying boxes of supplies to various venues
  • Able to work well with 4-5 other Customer Relations Representatives
  • Able to tolerate a moderate level of noise and distraction

Work Environment

  • Must be able to work varied hours – day, evenings and weekends
  • Able to adapt to several performance venues — ticket offices or just a table and chair
  • Variable temperatures – offices and work spaces may be too hot or cold
