The Kansas City Symphony invites you to take your turn in the spotlight! Perform on stage in Helzberg Hall with Music Director Matthias Pintscher and members of the KC Symphony in the second annual Kansas City Symphony ProAm. Attend rehearsals and social gatherings along with the culminating performance and see your name on the official orchestra roster. No audition is necessary!

Perform under the direction of Music Director Matthias Pintscher on the beautiful Helzberg Hall stage.

REHEARSAL: Sunday, March 7, 2027  | 7-9:30 PM
REHEARSAL: Sunday, March 14, 2027 | 7-9:30 PM
REHEARSAL: Tuesday, March 16, 2027 | 7-9:30 PM
REHEARSAL: Wednesday, March 31, 2027 | 7-9:30 PM
PERFORMANCE: Sunday, April 4, 2027 | 7 PM
*A separate sectional service will be scheduled at a location and time TBD in January/February 2027
All services are in Helzberg Hall at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts

DVORAK Symphony No. 9 “From the New World”
WILLIAMS Theme from “Jurassic Park”

REGISTRATION:

Online applications will be accepted October 5-November 21, 2026. Performers will be notified of acceptance by December 1, 2026.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • No audition necessary to participate. Certain positions including concertmaster may require additional screening.
  • Registrants must be age 21 or older.
  • Registrants must be able to read music and play an instrument within the standard orchestra instrumentation
  • The deadline to register is November 21, 2026. No late registrations will be accepted. Participants will be notified of acceptance the week of December 1, 2026.
  • A non-refundable participation fee of $200 will be processed upon selection.
  • Participants must guarantee availability for the specified dates in the event they are chosen for the Kansas City Symphony ProAm.
  • Participation requires regular and punctual attendance at all rehearsals, absence at any required events may result in dismissal from the program.
  • Registration does not guarantee a spot in the Kansas City Symphony ProAm. Acceptance is limited to space, available on a first-come, first-served basis. If not accepted, registration fees will not be processed.
  • The Kansas City Symphony reserves the right to photograph, record, use, and copy all Kansas City Symphony activities for educational, archival, and/or promotional purposes.
  • The Kansas City Symphony does not discriminate on the basis of gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, color or national or ethnic origin, parental or marital status, and age or disability in the selection of participants.
