Acting Assistant Concertmaster
Violinist Chiafei Lin, a graduate of Cleveland Institute of Music, is currently a member of Kansas City Symphony serving as Acting Assistant Concertmaster. She continued her study at UMKC Conservatory of Music with Graduate Teaching Assistantship under the tutelage of Prof. Benny Kim. Ms. Lin is the winner of 1995 Taiwan National Violin Competition, 2006 Philharmonia of Greater Kansas City Concerto Competition and 2006 UMKC Concerto Competition. As a native Taiwanese, Ms. Lin has been invited to perform in Taiwan Connection Festival for the past couple years where she collaborated in chamber music settings with musicians such as Nai-yuan Hu, Robert Levin, Dong-Suk Kang, Shigeo Neriki, Jasmine Lin and Scott Lee. Ms. Lin has participated and performed in numerous music festivals and summer programs in Europe and the United States: Salzburg Mozarteum Academy, Carl Flesh Academy, Aspen Music Festival and Sun Flower Music Festival, to name a few. Ms. Lin also enjoys a teaching career and she is a founding faculty member of Heartland Music Academy in Kansas City directed by her husband, Jackie Lee.
