Symphony’s launches new Classics Uncorked series
The Kansas City Symphony will debut a new seriesin Helzberg Hall, Classics Uncorked, beginning November 8 at 7pm. The new Classics Uncorked series has an earlier start time, a shorter program without intermission, a more casual atmosphere, and a free glass of wine or champagne after the concert, along with the chance to socialize with Symphony musicians in the Brandmeyer Grand Lobby.

Kansas City Symphony debuts Free Happy Hour Chamber Music Series
The Symphony Happy Hour Chamber Music Series is designed as an after-work opportunity to enjoy chamber music by ensembles of KCS musicians. It’s the perfect after-work way to unwind. Come by Helzberg Hall at the Kauffman Center October 17 at 6 pm for the first of four Happy Hour FREE chamber music concerts featuring Symphony musicians.

John Lithgow narrates Kansas City Symphony family concert September 16th
The Kansas City Symphony’s Family Series begins September 16th with “Farkle & Friends.” Based on John Lithgow’s spellbinding children’s book of the same title, the remarkable Farkle McBride is a musical genius who plays the violin, flute, trombone and drums with incredible skill. But something is missing. The orchestra serves both to accompany young Farkle on his musical journeys as well as underscore McBride’s emotional experiences as he struggles to find his musical passion. This concert also features Carnival of the Animals with Lithgow’s own narration.

Symphony Presents Free Labor Day Concert
The Kansas City Symphony will present its 29th annual Labor Day Pops in the Park concert on Monday, September 3, 2012, at 7:00 p.m. Under the evening sky, and the baton of assistant conductor Aram Demirjian in his KCS debut, the full symphony orchestra will perform a program designed to delight family audiences.

Symphony concert to air nationally on PBS on Friday, July 20
The Kansas City Symphony will be featured in the documentary Homecoming: the Kansas City Symphony Presents Joyce DiDonato, premiering nationally on PBS stations on Friday, July 20, including KCPT Channel 19.1 in Kansas City.
